Cabinet Installation FAQs

Stock cabinets are pre-built in fixed sizes, available immediately, lowest cost. Semi-custom are built to order in a wider size range with more finish options, 4–8 week lead time. Custom cabinets are built to exact measurements in any configuration, 8–16 weeks, highest cost. We work with all three tiers depending on your budget and design.

Stock: in stock or 1–2 weeks. Semi-custom: 6–10 weeks from order. Custom: 10–16 weeks. The cabinet lead time determines when demo can start — we order early to avoid the kitchen being down while cabinets are in transit.

Maple is the most common for painted cabinets (tight grain, takes paint well). Oak is popular for stained finishes. Cherry and walnut for premium stained looks. Thermofoil and laminate wrap over MDF for contemporary painted looks at lower cost.

No — two-tone kitchens (different colors for upper and lower) are popular and can look intentional and sophisticated. The most common combination is white or light uppers with a darker or contrasting lower color.
